Biography
Leon D. Moore was born on August 24, 1949. His home of record is Summit, NJ. Moore was a graduate of Oakland Academy in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was a member of CYO, the Boy Scounts of America and the Summit PAL Riffle Team.
He served in the US Army and attained the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4). He entered the Army in Janyar 1968 at trained at Fort Dix, NJ. He served with the 9th Infantry Division. Moore's tour of duty began on June 14, 1968.
Moore was killed in action on January 27, 1969. He is buried at Saint Teresa Cemetery in Summit, NJ. He was survived by his parents and brothers, David and Peter.
