Jim McGinnis

Jim, retired from being a Sales Rep in the Drug Wholesale Distributor Business after 40 + years.

He was drafted into the U S Army in October 1965, and served with the 196th. Light Infantry Brigade until July 1967 after a year “Tour of Duty” from July 1966 to 1967; The first Light Infantry Brigade in the U S Army. Jim’s MOS 11-Bravo served with Delta Co 3/21 .as a Senior Scout Observer in a Recon Platoon.

Jim lives with his wife, Beverly of 40 + years, has one married son, Jim Jr. who lives in Allendale, N. J.

Jim is a Life Member in the following organizations: 196th. Light Infantry Brigade Assoc., VFW Post 5702 in Franklin Lakes N. J. , DAV Post 32, in Bergenfield, N. J;, and VVA Post 0800 in Little Ferry, N.J.

Jim had been looking forward for a long time to being a Volunteer Tour Guide at the Foundation to share facts and stories, that only a Vietnam Veteran can offer and to keep the memories alive of all those Brave Heroes on our Memorial.

    Thank you for speaking to the 8th graders from Copeland Middle School today. I wish we had more time together. You are a great presenter and gave our students an education they will never recieive through a textbook. Your stories were interesting and well detailed. You were prepared with pictures and amazing stats about the war. You and your fellow veterans are amazing Americans. Thank you for your time and most of all your service.

    Jim was wondering if u worked for NCR before Vietnam, I remember a Jim Mcginnis when I was there in N Jersey, if so love to chat.
