Biography
Terrance E. Smith was born on June 19, 1947. His home of record is Phillipsburg, NJ.
He served in the US Army and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant (SSGT). He was assigned to B Company, 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry, 25th Division.
Smith was killed in action on March 24, 1968, outside the town of Trang Bang, Tay Ninh Province. He was struck in the head by small arms fire.
He is buried in St. Phillip and St. James Cemetery in Phillipsburg, NJ.
Smith received numerous medals and decorations including the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Campaign Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Medal, the Military Merit Medal, the Gallantry Cross with Palm and the Combat Infantryman Badge.
