Biography

Alan Bedrock was born on October 19, 1947, to Jacob and Rita Palumbo Bedrock.  His home of record is Fords, NJ.  He had two brothers, Martin and Carl, and two sisters, Candace and Beverly.  Alan graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Iselin, NJ, in 1965.  He attended Northeast Missouri University for four years and was an avid New York Yankee, New York Knicks and New York Rangers fan.

He entered the US Army on September 25, 1969, and attained the rank of Corporal (CPL).

He was killed in action on May 28, 1970.  He received the Vietnam Service Medal and Sharpshooter Awards.

Alan was a wonderful person.  He was just 22 years old when he was killed.  He delivered newspapers as a boy. He had 100 people on his route who loved him.  He was going to be a Physical Education Instructor after he finished college.  He was a very tall handsome young man.  He went into the service on September 25, 1969 and was killed on May 28, 1970, only 8 short months later.  Today, he would have been 51 years of age.  He had a lot of friends.  He lived for sports.  He played baseball as a young boy with his school.  What can a mother tell you about a child; that he was well loved, everyone liked him, he was a quiet child, except when the New York Yankees were on.  Not a day goes by that I don't think of him and wish that he were here.
