Biography


Thomas Robert Ike was born on November 2, 1946, to Harry and Ruth Ike. His home of record is Millington, NJ. Tom had three brothers, Harry, Richard, and George, and a sister, Gail. He was a 1965 graduate of Ridge High School in Basking Ridge, NJ where he enjoyed track, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Ike entered the US Marines Corps on January 24, 1966, where he attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC). He served in the 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, 3rd Battalion, Company M, 3rd Squadron.

Ike was killed in action on May 25, 1967, in South Vietnam.

Ike received the National Defense Service Medal, the US Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm and the Purple Heart.
