Biography


Edward J. Ruvolis was born on July 17, 1944.  His home of record is Washington, NJ. 

He served in the US Marine Corps and attained the rank of Corporal (CPL).  He served with Heavy Marine Helicopter Squadron #463 as a flight electrician.

Ruvolis was killed in action on May 12, 1968, when the aircraft he was working on was hit with an enemy mortar round.  This was at Marble Mountain Air Facility in Quang Nam Province. 

Ruvolis earned numerous awards and decorations including the Purple Heart Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Marine Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Unit Commendation Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon Bar, Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, Republic of Vietnam Civil Action Medal with Palm, and Republic of Vietnam Military Merit Medal.

He is buried in South Easton Cemetery in Easton, PA.
