Biography


Frederick A. Billingham, Jr. was born on March 26, 1949, to Mr. And Mrs. Frederick Billingham. His home of record is Trenton, NJ. He had two sisters, Barbara and Patricia. He attended Steinert High School and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Billingham entered the US Marine Corps in 1966 and was assigned to Bravo Company, 1/26th Marine Regiment. He attained the rank of Corporal (CPL).

He was killed in action on February 25, 1968. Billingham had been missing in action briefly. The Marine Corps believed that Billingham was ambushed and killed along with 18 other men on patrol near Khe Sanh. He is buried in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MI.

Some of the medals that Billingham was awarded include the Purple Heart, the Pistol Sharpshooter Medal, the Rifle Sharpshooter Medal, the National Defense Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.
