Biography


John Dalton was born on August 4, 1947, to Frank and Marge Dalton. His home of record is Riverdale, NJ. He had a sister, Peggy, and two brothers, Frank and Vince.

John graduated from DePaul High School in Wayne in 1965. John was a huge Mets baseball fan and he loved to golf.

Dalton entered the US Army in February 1968. He served with 4th Infantry and attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC). Dalton was sent to Vietnam on July 21, 1968.

He was killed in action by a sniper on September 30, 1968, in Pleiku, South Vietnam. He is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ. Dalton was awarded the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star and the Gallantry Cross with Palm.
