Biography


 

George F. Long was born on December 31, 1943, to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Muller.  His home of record is Tuckahoe, NJ.  George had one brother, Harry.  George was a member of South Jersey Local 350 of the International Association of Bridge, Structural and Ornamental Iron Workers.

He served in the US Army and attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC).  Long served as a machine gunner on an armored personnel carrier with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment. 

Long was killed in action on May 30, 1968.  He was survived by his wife, Patricia.  His brother, Harry, was also serving in Vietnam at the time of his death.

He is buried in Calvary Baptist Cemetery in Cape May County, NJ.
