Biography


Stanley J. Cygon was born on November 17, 1940, to John and Ann Cygon.  His home of record is Boonton, NJ.  He had one sister, Elizabeth.  He graduated from Boonton High School in 1958, and continued his education at the University of Mississippi where he was part of the ROTC program.  He was an avid golfer and played in many college and Army tournaments.

He entered the US Army in 1963.  After being discharged in 1966, he worked for NJ Bell Telephone and Picatinny Arsenal as a personnel manager. He married Jean Burgler and they had two daughters, Elizabeth and Sara.

Cygon re-enlisted in the US Army in December 1967 as a Captain (CAPT).  He was sent to Vietnam in January 1968.  He was killed in action on April 3, 1968.
