Biography


Robert J. Keenan was born on April 26, 1943, to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kennan.  His home of record is Jersey City, NJ.  He had five siblings.  He was a 1961 graduate of St. Anthony's High School and enjoyed baseball and bowling.  He continued his education at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

He entered the US Army where he attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC).

On April 26, 1966, while serving as a medic with the First Division near Ben Cat, Keenan was shot and killed.  It was his 23rd birthday.

The Hudson County Parks Commission built the PFC Robert Keenan Memorial Little League Field in Mercer Park in Jersey City, NJ.
