Biography


Brendan J. Kearns was born on May 3, 1948. His home of record is Bernardsville, NJ. He enlisted in the US Air Force and attained the rank of Airman First Class (A1C).

Kearns was killed in action on November 10, 1967 at the age of twenty. He had enlisted in 1966. A Requiem Mass was offered in Holy Family Church in San Diego, with burial in Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery also in San Diego.

Kearns survived his father retired Air Force civilian employee Cyril S. Kearns of San Diego, California and two brothers, Dennis who also served in the Air Force and Kevin of San Diego who served in the Navy. Kearns lived in Bernardsville, NJ various times from the age of three. His mother died when he was young. He attended Cedar Hill School and Ridge High School and was graduated from a high school for dependents of military personnel in Iceland.
