Biography


William T. Jacobus was born February 24, 1946.  His home of record is Trenton, NJ.  A 1964 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Trenton, he attended Trenton Junior College for two years before enlisting in the Armed Forces.

Jacobus served in the US Army and attained the rank of Warrant Officer (WO).  He wrote often, and thought it was his personal duty to be in Vietnam.  He complained about the heat in his first few letters, but then later wrote the heat wasn’t bothering him.

On January 2, 1968, at the age of 21, Jacobus was killed in action in South Vietnam. He is buried at St. Hedwig’s Cemetery in Ewing Twp, NJ. He was survived by his parents, Michael and Ann Lawrence, brother Michael, nephews and grandmother Mary Lawrence.
