Biography


Steve Anderson was born on July 12, 1946, in Bluefield, WV, to Grant and Hazel Anderson.  His home of record is Newark, NJ.  Steve had three brothers, Brackston, Grant Jr., and Roland, and one sister, Carolyn. 

He attended the public schools in Bluefield and was a graduate of Park Central High School in 1964.  Steve was baptized in the Mount Zion Pentecostal Church at an early age and worked in the church until he left Bluefield.  After high school he worked in the Job Corps for eighteen months.

He entered the US Army in September 1967 and attained the rank of Corporal (CPL).  Anderson was sent to Vietnam in April 1969.Anderson was killed in action on July 10, 1969.  Besides his parents and siblings, he was survived by his daughter, Leontine. He is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in West Virginia.
