Biography

Victor M. Negron was born on March 1, 1945.  His home of record is Bayonne, NJ.  Victor attended Bayonne High School until 1962, when he enlisted in the US Air Force.

In the US Air Force, Negron attained the rank of Airman First Class (A1C).  He finished high school while in the service and mentioned in his last letter that he intended to start additional courses at night school upon his return.

On September 19, 1967, Negron was at his duty station in a runway hut when an F-100 aircraft exploded over the field.  Pieces of the plane struck him, inflicting multiple injuries and killing him instantly.  He had been in Vietnam since June 17, 1967.

Negron married in 1966, and his wife, Phyllis, was living in Mobile, AL, at the time of his death.  He had planned to meet his wife in Hawaii for a week in January 1968.
