Biography


 Chester Cosgrove was born on January 17, 1949.  His home of record is Bloomfield, NJ.  Being 6 feet 5 inches tall, Chet, as his friends knew him, was a great asset to the Bloomfield High School basketball team.  He also played soccer and was a member of the varsity baseball team.

He served in the US Marine Corps and attained the rank of Lance Corporal (LCPL).  Chester was a CAP Marine (Combined Actions Program).  CAP Marines pledged to defend the villages that they were assigned.  Chester arrived in country on January 13, 1968.  His unit was CAP 1-3-7 CACO 1-3, 1st CAG, Combined Action, III MAF.

Cosgrove was killed in action on November 17, 1968.  He died as results of wounds received on November 16, 1968.
