Cappy Everhard

Casper A. “Cappy” Everhard Jr. enlisted in the United States Marine Corps from his hometown of Matawan Township, New Jersey. He entered the service on February 2, 1966. He received his basic training at Parris Island, South Carolina. He received advanced infantry training at Camp Le Jeune, North Carolina and tank training at Camp Pendleton, and Camp Del Mar, California.

PFC Everhard served as a tank crewman in Vietnam from August 1966 through August 1967. After his tour in Vietnam, he returned to the United States and from 1967 through 1970 did guard duty at Earle Navel Ammunition Depot in Colts Neck, New Jersey.

Today, Casper is retired and lives in Aberdeen, New Jersey.

Cappy belongs to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4745, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, United States Marine Corps League (Tinker Dorn Detachment) and the Vietnam Tankers Association.
