Bruce Graber

Bruce Graber is both a tour guide at the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Foundation and works in the gift shop every Tuesday morning. He has volunteered at the Memorial since the beginning of 2009. Graber enlisted in the United States Army from his hometown of Maplewood, New Jersey. He entered the service in October 1965. He received his basic training and advanced individual training at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Bruce Graber served as a wheel vehicle mechanic, with a panel bridge engineer unit in Vietnam, from March 1966-1967. He then finished his enlistment with seventeen additional months in Idar-Oberstein, Germany and was honorably discharged in September 1968.

Today, Bruce Graber is retired from his career as a financial software implementation specialist, which was preceded by many years in a wide range of accounting positions. He lives in Bedminster, New Jersey with his wife Tami and has two children, Scott and Caryn, who each have two children of their own.

Aside from volunteering at the NJ Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial, he is a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America in Manville, New Jersey. Graber enjoys his time working at the Memorial and finds sharing his experiences in Vietnam with school students to be extremely rewarding.
