Biography


Thomas E. Grix was born on February 8, 1946.  His home of record is New Milford, NJ.  Thomas was attending Fairleigh Dickinson University and working part-time in New Milford when he decided to enlist in the service.

He enlisted in the US Army and attained the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4).  Grix wanted to be a Green Beret and he served with Company A, Advanced Team 99, as a communication specialist.

Grix was killed in action on December 15, 1967, from gunshot wounds received in the hamlet of Duc Hoa, 18 miles northwest of Saigon.

Grix was survived by his mother, Mrs. Thomas Grix, and his wife, the former Carol Sawicky.
