Biography


Leon J. Kramer was born on April 11, 1933, to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kramer.  His home of record is Trenton, NJ.  Leon had two brothers and five sisters.  He graduated from Trenton Catholic High School in 1950.  He continued his education at St. Mary's College in Baltimore, MD. 

He served in the US Army and attained the rank of Captain (CAPT).  He had been in the Army for seven years and spent time in Korea prior to being assigned to Vietnam.  He served as an infantry advisor to a Vietnamese Army unit. 

Kramer was killed in action on January 31, 1963, about 260 miles north of Saigon.  Kramer was involved in a pursuit of two Viet Cong companies when the incident occurred.
