Biography

Frank Harry Bushey was born on March 7, 1946, and was the only child of Mildred and Francis Bushey. He was born in Camden, NJ, and attended Woodrow Wilson High School. He graduated in 1964. Frank enjoyed church, bowling, baseball and all sports. He hoped to become an auto mechanic.

Bushey enlisted in the US Army on December 3, 1965, and attained the rank of Private (PVT). Bushey's MOS was 56A10, supply handler. During a leave to visit his parents the September before his death, he sought a "compassionate reassignment" as an only child, but was refused.

He arrived in Vietnam on December 13, 1966. On April 10, 1968, Bushey was killed in action in Vietnam. He died as a result of blood poisoning from non-combat related wounds received on April 7, at Binh Hoa, South Vietnam. He was only 22 years old. He wrote to his parents in his last letter that he was serving as a guard in Saigon. Frank is buried at Locustwood Memorial Park in Cherry Hill, NJ.
