Biography
George A. Poor, Jr. was born on October 26, 1947, to Mr. and Mrs. George A. Poor, Sr. His home of record is Hillsdale, NJ. After graduating high school, he decided to join the service.
He enlisted in the US Army and attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC). In March 1967, he was sent to Vietnam as a paratrooper. His dream, however, was to become a Green Beret. He was told he would have to wait until after his 20th birthday.
Poor was killed in action on June 22, 1967, at Dak To. George is buried at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, New Jersey.
