Biography


James Beschen was born on January 1, 1945, to George and Elizabeth Beschen.  His home of record is Wildwood, NJ.  He was six feet tall, weighed 145 pounds and had blue eyes.  James had three sisters, Marie, Bette and Sue, and one brother, George.  He attended Wildwood Catholic High School and enjoyed hunting.

Beschen entered the US Marine Corps on October 10, 1965, and attained the rank of Corporal (CPL). 

On July 19, 1966, at the age of 21, Beschen was killed in action in South Vietnam, Quang Nam Province.  He was killed in a friendly fire accident.

Beschen was awarded numerous awards and decorations including the Pistol Sharpshooter, Rifle Expert and the Purple Heart.
