Biography


Robert Lee Gray was born on May 12, 1948. His home of record is Cologne, NJ.

Gray served in the US Army and attained the rank of Specialist 4 (SP4). He served with the 1st Battalion, 20th Infantry, 11th Light Infantry Brigade. His tour began on December 20, 1969.

Gray was killed in action on June 16, 1970. On the morning of June 13, 1970, Robert Gray was severely wounded by an RPG Round. His back and leg received massive fragmentation wounds. Although evacuated promptly to the 91st Evacuation Hospital, he died of his wounds three days later on June 16th.

He was awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense medal, Vietnam Service medal, and Vietnam Campaign medal.
