Richard D.B. Shepherd was born August 11, 1941 and raised in Princeton, NJ.

Shepherd served the in US Army where he attained the rank of First Lieutenant (1LT).

On February 6, 1967, Shepherd was killed in action when an armored personnel carrier in which he was riding exploded.  He was 25 years old.

He left behind his mother and his maternal grandmother.
