Richard C. Drewes was born on September 14, 1933. His home of record is Trenton, NJ.
Richard was married to Edith Shirley and had four children, Deborah, Richard, Tom and Chris.

He served in the US Army and attained the rank of Captain (CAPT). He was assigned to the 27th Surgical Hospital, 44th Medical Brigade.

On December 17, 1968, Drewes' tour of duty had just ended and he was headed home, when he was killed on his departing flight out of Vietnam. The plane crashed after take-off due to a mechanical malfunction. Richard Drewes is buried at Ewing Church Cemetery in Trenton, New Jersey.
