Lana Mae Noone

Lana Noone is an award-winning speaker, author and Vietnam Babylift
"Living Historian". Lana engages her audiences through artifacts, music, and her talk about
life as a pioneer "global mom"...told with humor, enthusiasm and
inspiration. A classically-trained flutist, she performed with the Colorado
Philharmonic, Eglevsky Ballet Orchestra, Island Chamber Symphone at the Hicksville Library, Internationales Jugendorchester, Harkness Ballet and Joffrey Ballet Orchestra, Long Island Symphony, and the Orchestra of America, and was a soloist at the Edinborough
Music Festival, Edinborough, Scotland.
She is a recipient of the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation's Torch
of Tomorrow Humanitarian Award, and The New York State Senate Humanitarian
Commendation,
Lana is recognized by Who's Who in America, Who's Who of American Women,
and Who's Who of Emerging Leaders of America, among others.
She has presented Babylift programs for Adelphi Univeristy, the American Association of
University Women, 10th Anniversary Program at the Vietnam Civilian Women's
Memorial, Washington, DC, the 4th Triennial Vietnam Symposium, Texas Tech
University, C.W. Post/Long Island Univeristy, Dowling College,

She was interviewed on CBS and ABC News affiliates in Grand Rapids, MI and
appeared on Time-Warner Cable's "The Reilly Report", News 12 NJ,
and WNYE'S "Teacher as Historian" Series.
Lana also assisted with Babylift segments

Her book, "Global Mom: Notes From a Pioneer Adoptive Family" (Gateway,
2003) was featured in news articles published in Newsday, Catholic Free
Press
News Service and The VVA Veteran.
Her 2nd book (for children) titled, "When Jennie and Jason Came Home...and
all the wonderful things that happened" was previewed at a recent Long
Island Children's Museum event in November, 2004.
