Erwin J. Haarwaldt was born on January 18, 1947, to Erwin and Elizabeth Haarwaldt. His home of record is Trenton, NJ. Erwin graduated from Steinert High School in 1965. He enjoyed fishing and sports.
Haarwaldt served in the US Army and attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC). He completed basic training in Fort Riley, KS. He was assigned to A Company, 3rd Battalion, 39th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division.
Haarwaldt was killed in action on March 20, 1967. He is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Trenton, NJ.
