Douglas M. Soroka was born on August 4, 1948, to Mr. and Mrs. Demetrio Soroko.  In 1962, the family moved from Philadelphia, PA, to Blackwood, NJ.  His home of record is Blackwood.  He had two younger siblings, Ronald and Barbara.  Douglas graduated from Triton High School in Runnemede, NJ, in 1966.

He served in the US Marine Corps and attained the rank of Lance Corporal (LCPL).

Soroka was killed in action on January 28, 1968.
