The NJ Vietnam Veterans' Memorial and the Vietnam Era Educational Center hosts five ceremonies each year. Ceremonies are held inside the NJ Vietnam Veterans' Memorial.
NJ Vietnam Veterans Remembrance Day
Our annual ceremony is held May 7th at 11:00 AM, rain or shine. New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Remembrance Day, May 7, was created by legislation in 1991 as a unique day in New Jersey to honor all those who served in the military during the Vietnam Era, from 1959 to 1975. More than 200,000 New Jersey residents served in the armed forces during that time.
Memorial Day
Our annual Memorial Day ceremony is held on the last Monday in May at 11:00 AM, rain or shine. As part of this ceremony, the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans‘ Memorial awards two $2,500 college scholarships to graduating New Jersey seniors, as well as inducting veterans into the “In Memory” Program, which honors those who served in Vietnam and returned home only to die as a result of their tour, but whose names are not on the Memorial.
POW/MIA Recognition Day and Gold Star Mothers Day
Our annual ceremony is held on the third Friday of September at 11:00 AM, rain or shine. The third Friday of September is National POW/MIA Recognition Day. Ceremonies are held throughout the country in honor of America‘s POW/MIAs, those returned and those still unaccounted for from our nation‘s wars.
Veterans Day
Our annual ceremony is held on November 11th at 11:00 AM, rain or shine. As part of the ceremony, the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans‘ Memorial Foundation inducts veterans into the “In Memory” Program, which honors those who served in Vietnam and returned home only to die as a result of their tour, but whose names are not on the Memorial.
