We are always looking for volunteers to assist us with various activities at the Memorial and Educational Center. We will work around your schedule to find the best time for you.
You don't have to be a veteran; you don't have to be a history professor - a little training and you are ready to go.
Our volunteer base includes veterans, college students, family members, senior citizens, employees of major corporations, and other people who are interested in our facility.
Our volunteers currently help out in a variety of different areas. These include:
Tour Guides: Veterans are vital to the learning experience of the students who visit the Educational Center and Memorial during guided tours; Veterans help answer questions and talk about their own experiences; Your story makes a visit unique
Reception Desk/Gift Shop: Welcome visitors, sell merchandise, and answer general questions about the Memorial and Educational Center
Clerical: Stuffing and labeling envelopes, making copies of flyers, updating databases, and other general office duties.
Curatorial/Collections Management: Assist our Collections Manager with cataloging the holdings in the Ed Center
Research: Work with our staff and other volunteers in researching other memorials throughout New Jersey, collecting biographies on our fallen heroes and much more
Public Relations: Develop human interest stories about our volunteers, staff, board of trustees, volunteer programs, and much more
If you are interested in giving a few hours of your time to a worthwhile cause, please contact Katie Witzig at 732-335-0033 or kwitzig@njvvmf.org.
