New Jersey is home to a remarkable resource.  It's the only one of its kind in the entire county.
And it needs your help....

By becoming a member of the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans‘ Memorial Foundation, you can help us to accomplish our mission - “To Remember, To Heal, To Honor.”

Members receive benefits such as free admission to the Educational Center, a member discount in our gift shop, a special newsletter, invitations to our special events and more.  And most importantly, you‘ll have the satisfaction of knowing that you did your part to ensure that future generations will have a place to go to learn about the sacrifices made by millions of men and women who served our country.

Let us share with you some of our accomplishments...

Since the opening of the Vietnam Era Educational Center in September 1998, we have hosted over 65,000 visitors to our site.    Our two largest groups of visitors are veterans and school children.  Veterans and family members come to honor and remember their friends and loved ones; school children and educators come to learn about the Vietnam Era and its place in history.

“Teaching the Next Generation”

As part of our efforts to teach the legacy of the Vietnam War, we have developed comprehensive programs for our school-age visitors that have received rave reviews from teachers across the state.  Our goal is to make it easy for educators to teach children about the Vietnam War and the complexities of the time period.  We encourage teachers to bring their students to the Memorial and Educational Center, where they are given guided tours led by Vietnam Veterans.  The opportunity for children to speak directly with those who served their country has a measurable impact on the perceptions these young people form of our veterans.  We are thankful to have so many great volunteers who share their stories with our young people.

“Reaching More People”

One of the primary goals of the Foundation in the coming year is to increase the visibility of the Memorial and Educational Center.  To help us achieve this goal, we recently launched a new website and will soon begin offering “electronic field trips” to students who cannot physically visit the Memorial and Educational Center.

Visitors to our website (www.njvvmf.org) now have the ability to search the biographies of the 1,556 men and 1 woman who are listed on the Memorial, get information about upcoming ceremonies and events, and learn more about our educational programs.  Our distance learning program will provide students in the classroom a chance to interact with Vietnam Veterans and hear about their personal experiences and many other topics.  The possibilities are endless.

“Please Join Us as We Move Forward”

Thanks to our supporters, we have accomplished many good things in a short time.  If we are to continue to meet and exceed our expanding goals, we need your help.  We welcome you to join our volunteer force and share your experiences with our students.
