Bruce G. Friel was born on June 28, 1949, to James and Doris Friel.  He had one brother, James.  His home of record is Mount Holly, NJ.  He attended Mount Holly High School.  He participated in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and raising animals.

He served in the US Marine Corps and attained the rank of Corporal (CPL).

Friel was killed in action on April 15, 1969.  He was buried in San Jose, CA. 

Bruce’s cousin, Wayne Reeves, was killed in Vietnam on March 18, 1968.
