Ronald Edward Kowalski was born on August 12, 1950, the son of Stefhan and Thelma Kowalski. Ron was one of four boys, Steve, Keith and Jeffrey.


Ron’s dad was also a Marine and served during World Warr II. He participated in action against the enemy at Guadalcanal, Tulagi, BSI, Cape Gloucester, Great Britain, Peleliu, Palau Islands. He was wounded in action on October 12, 1942.


Ron enlisted in the Marines at the age of seventeen on December 4, 1967. He received an honorable discharge on August 17, 1972. He served in Vietnam from 1968-1969.


Ron served his country with honor and participated in many battles.


Ron was misdiagnosed with arthritis and later was told he had the effects of the herbicide Agent Orange and was told he had four months to live. He died on January 31, 2009


Ron was a kind man and a friend to all. Our family will never forget Ron. He was the best husband and father you could ever ask for.


Ron was proud to be a Marine and proud to have been able to serve his country.


Ron was inducted into the In Memory program at the NJ Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial on November 11, 2009.
